Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: April 2026
Our Commitment
jamestannahill.com is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Accessibility is an ongoing priority, not a one-time task. We continuously review and improve the Site as standards evolve and as we learn from user feedback.
Technical Measures
The following measures have been implemented to support accessibility:
- Semantic HTML — Page structure uses appropriate heading hierarchy, landmark elements
(
main, nav, footer), and descriptive labels to assist screen readers and assistive technologies - Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (links, form fields, buttons) are reachable and operable via keyboard alone
- Color contrast — Text and UI elements maintain contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA standards (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Focus indicators — Keyboard focus is visually indicated for all interactive elements
- Responsive design — The Site is fully responsive and accessible across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewport sizes
- Form labels — Contact form fields include visible labels and accessible name attributes to support assistive technology
Video Content
Background video content on the Site is decorative in nature. All videos are muted by default and do not autoplay audio content. Videos do not convey information essential to understanding the page, and their absence does not affect the ability of any user to access the substantive content of the Site. Video playback does not interfere with screen reader operation or assistive technology.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas of the Site may not yet fully meet all criteria. We are aware that accessibility audits are ongoing, and we are committed to addressing any identified gaps. If you encounter a specific barrier, please report it so we can address it promptly.
